Este amino\u00e1cido (creatina)<strong> \u00e9 armazenado em grande parte no m\u00fasculo (95%)<\/strong>, mas, tamb\u00e9m, <strong>no c\u00e9rebro, olhos e rins (5%)<sup>2<\/sup><\/strong>. Ou seja, dois dos \u00f3rg\u00e3os do corpo humano que precisam de receber energia com mais rapidez, as c\u00e9lulas armazenam creatina de forma a garantirem reservas de energia constantes. Este composto \u00e9 armazenado como <strong>fosfato de creatina<\/strong> \u2014 essencial para a s\u00edntese de ATP (energia). Isto \u00e9, os neur\u00f3nios s\u00e3o c\u00e9lulas altamente ativas, consumidores de grandes quantidades de energia, fazem com que o fosfato presente nas c\u00e9lulas esteja sempre a ser \u201creciclado\u201d, garantido que a energia n\u00e3o esgota. <\/p><p style=\"font-size:15px\">Repara que, a creatina entra neste processo como um recurso <strong>capaz de aumentar a quantidade de fosfato dispon\u00edvel<\/strong>, garantindo energia constante para o c\u00e9rebro. Portanto, \u00e9 devido a este mecanismo que a creatina est\u00e1 associada a: <\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"font-size:15px\"><li>uma maior resist\u00eancia \u00e0 fadiga mental, <\/li>\n\n<li>aumento da mem\u00f3ria a curto prazo <\/li>\n\n<li>e a uma maior capacidade de reten\u00e7\u00e3o.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Creatina e Fadiga Mental<\/strong><\/h2><p style=\"font-size:15px\">A evid\u00eancia cient\u00edfica deste tema ganha for\u00e7a quando falamos em situa\u00e7\u00f5es de fadiga mental, provocada por per\u00edodos prolongados de atividade cognitiva.\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"font-size:15px\">As conclus\u00f5es s\u00e3o poss\u00edveis de transpor para profiss\u00f5es com elevado n\u00edvel de exig\u00eancia cognitiva, como \u00e9 o caso do jogador de poker profissional que, em muitos casos, joga mais do que 6\/7h por dia em constante estado de alerta. Nestas situa\u00e7\u00f5es, de fadiga e cansa\u00e7o mental, os n\u00edveis de fosfocreatina, assim como o pH cerebral, diminuem. Como forma de <strong>atenuar os sintomas provocados pela fadiga mental<\/strong>, o consumo de creatina ex\u00f3gena parece fazer sentido no aumento dos n\u00edveis de fosfocreatina cerebral<sup>4<\/sup>; a priva\u00e7\u00e3o de sono, muito comum nos jogadores de poker, est\u00e1 associada \u00e0 diminui\u00e7\u00e3o de ATP cerebral, pois a aus\u00eancia de um per\u00edodo de sono cont\u00ednuo impede a restaura\u00e7\u00e3o adequada dos n\u00edveis de ATP.\u00a0<\/p><div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Devo suplementar?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2><p style=\"font-size:15px\">Nesta situa\u00e7\u00e3o, suplementar com creatina parece ser \u00fatil, na medida em que pode aumentar os n\u00edveis de fosfocreatina cerebral, podendo assim <strong>incrementar as reservas de energia<\/strong>, levando \u00e0 diminui\u00e7\u00e3o dos efeitos da priva\u00e7\u00e3o de sono<sup>5<\/sup>. No entanto, \u00e9 sabido que o aumento da ingest\u00e3o de creatina oral, possibilita o aumento das reservas de fosfato de creatina nas c\u00e9lulas alvo (mi\u00f3citos no m\u00fasculo e neur\u00f3nios no c\u00e9rebro), o que leva a um aumento da performance desportiva e cognitiva, tal como explicado anteriormente. Perante este facto, e estando perfeitamente conscientes do qu\u00e3o exigente \u00e9 a profiss\u00e3o de um jogador de poker do ponto de vista cognitivo, a suplementa\u00e7\u00e3o de creatina parece fazer sentido.\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"font-size:15px\">Repara que, a <strong>toma de suplementa\u00e7\u00e3o de creatina oral<\/strong> com o objetivo de aumentar as reservas de creatina cerebral (9%) parece fazer sentido na ingest\u00e3o de <strong>5g\/dia durante 6 semanas<\/strong>.<sup>6<\/sup> Portanto, a toma de creatina nas quantidades moderadas (3 a 5g\/dia) n\u00e3o est\u00e1 associada a
