Chris Brewer Runner-up in the EPT Paris 2023 Super High Roller

Chris Brewer has set his sights on back-to-back wins in the EPT Paris €50,000 Super High Roller. The defending champion leads the six-player final table with €889,480 up for grabs.

The tournament with the highest buy-in saw 49 unique players create 62 entries and a prize fund of €2,916,480. The top eight finishers reached prize places when Aleksejs Ponakovs was out of the money at the end of Day 2.

Stephen Chidwick and Niklas Astedt came out afterwards to boost the rest of the top-level players for the final day.

Brewer, who outlasted Astedt, amassed 4,850,000 chips to steal the chip lead from Thomas Santerne (4,660,000).

EPT Paris Super High Roller final table

  • Place 1: Duco ten Haven, Netherlands, 1,265,000
  • Place 2: Markkos Ladev, Estonia, 2,325,000
  • Place 3: Sirzat Hissou, Germany, 800,000
  • Place 4: Chris Brewer, USA, 4,850,000
  • Place 5: Pieter Aerts, Belgium, 1,610,000
  • Place 6: Thomas Santerne, France, 4,660,000

Brewer is the only player to have made the money in both editions of the EPT Paris Super High Roller. Last year, he took home the €959,520 prize after outlasting 68 entrants.

Another player with solid credits at the final table is Duco ten Haven, who entered the Super High Roller after an outright victory in last week's €10,200 Mystery Bounty event, worth an impressive €244,000.

Ten Haven had the shortest stack at bubble, but he avoided elimination in an even match against Ponakovs. He still has a mountain to climb to win a second trophy at the festival, with only Sirzat Hissou behind him at the final table.

The final day will start with 13 minutes on the clock with blinds of 25,000/50,000.
