EPT PARIS MAIN EVENT ATTRACTS BIGGER FIELD THAN LAST YEAR, PRIZE POOL TOPS €8 MILLION

Gregory Fournier leads the EPT Paris 2024 Main Event ahead of Day 2

More than €8 million in prizes will be shared by the Evento Principal do European Poker Tour Paris 2024 that will navigate through the bubble. At least 558 entries will be in action on Day 2, with the total number of entries in the tournament settling in 1,661 so far.

The EPT Paris saw an increase in players in most of the main events, including the iconic €5,300 Main Event, which attracted 1,606 participants last year.

This time, the prize pool will exceed €8 million, with final figures and payouts to be announced on Wednesday afternoon after registration closes.

Participation in the EPT Paris 2024 Main Event

  • Day 1a: 607 entries, 200 players qualified
  • Day 1b: 1,054 entries, 358 players qualified
  • Day 2: Registration open until 12:00 CET

The French player Gregory Fournier led Day 1b and took the overall chip lead with 351,000. Fournier will be looking for his first EPT Main Event prize.

Gheorghe Fedorca (310,500) and Ruida Lin (304,500) are the only other players to have increased their starting stacks more than tenfold.

Defending champion Razvan Belea made it through, albeit with a short stack of 22,000. That will be just under 15 big blinds when play resumes.

Belea won the first EPT Paris Main Event for €1,170,000 despite starting Day 2 in 360th out of 586 remaining players and will be looking to repeat that feat again.

PokerStars Ambassador Parker Talbot will be in an equally difficult position, after advancing with 26,500. However, Talbot is already guaranteed to be one of the biggest winners at EPT Paris 2024.

Before joining the Main Event, he played at the final table of the FPS High Roller, which culminated on Tuesday afternoon, with Talbot finishing in 2nd place for €334,180.

The Day 2 of the EPT Paris Main Event starts at 12:00 CET, with the blinds at 1,000/1,500. All levels will be extended to 90 minutes from now on.
