FPS Main Event updates
The first two starting heats ended in the €1,100 France Poker Series Paris Main Event, with a total of 514 entries. Four more flights are scheduled for the tournament: two for Thursday and two for Friday.
Fabian Niederreiter took the chip lead in the final hand of Day 1a. Niederreiter broke the bubble in an ace-king showdown in which Zhongxian Li lost the biggest pot of the day.
Niederreiter hit an ace on the flop to secure the lead and finish with 776,000, far ahead of his closest competitors. Leandro Dirlewanger, who was second in chips, accumulated 548,000.
On Day 1a, 52 players advanced from the field of 347 participants. PokerStars Ambassador Maria Konnikova (210,000) and EPT Prague 2023 Main Event finalist Marle Spragg (180,000) were among those who advanced and secured a prize.
167 players took part in Day 1b, 25 of whom advanced to the next stage. Boris Angelov topped the leaderboard with 404,000, slightly ahead of Nicklas Krohn Dehli (403,000). PokerStars representative Felix Schneiders reported 151,000.
With four more flights to go, the FPS Paris Main Event is well positioned to surpass the record of 1,606 participants established in 2023.
Each heat continues until the field is reduced to the best 15% to guarantee at least a minimum prize for the players who advance.
