Pedro “Junior0z0” Garcia: His career with Team Cash

At the beginning of his career as a poker player, Pedro “Junior0z0” Garcia faced several challenges, the biggest of which was learning to dealing with variance of the game. “Dealing with emotions when it's going well is easy, you think you're very good; but when it goes wrong, it feels like you're doing everything wrong. Those uncertainties at the start are quite mentally draining,” he shares.

Another challenge was learning to study effectively. Knowing what content to consume and how to apply the knowledge was something that took time to master. “This is where Polarize played an essential role, guiding me and helping me to structure my study process.”

Currently Pedro Garcia's routine is a reflection of his dedication to poker and his well-being. “I usually wake up at 11 o'clock and go over the hands I've marked from the previous session. After that, I usually have a lesson scheduled with a student of mine, followed by a workout in the gym. In the afternoon, I take the opportunity to relax, often on the beach. Around 7pm/20pm, I start the grind, which lasts between 5 and 7 hours.”

Organization is also present at the end of each day. 

“After the grind, I consume some game-related content and analyze my stats on the HM to identify areas for improvement and be on the lookout for the next session.”

Asked about the most important skills for a cash game player, “Junior0z0” highlighted three fundamental pillars:

  1. Emotional Control: “Dealing with ups and downs is essential to maintain consistency.”

2024: A Year of Evolution and Achievements

“The balance sheet for 2024 is very positive.” says Pedro “Junior0z0” Garcia. “I achieved good results both in terms of winnings and the evolution of my game. With Hugo joining the team, we created a very strong study group, which helped me finish the year playing NL1000.”

For 2025, Pedro “Junior0z0” Garcia maintains a pragmatic approach. “My goals are always to surpass the previous year's workload. Honestly, I don't like to set specific goals like reaching a certain stake. I know that if I work hard, the results will come naturally.”
